Cooking & Baking with Your Little One

Cooking & baking with kids is messy, yet fun! It's a great way to spend a day & develop motor skills using the kitchen tools you already have (with caution). You can create a variety of pizzas and pastas, blueberry-lemon muffins, banana bread, lemon cheese cake & much more.

Gardening with Your Little One

One of the best ways to teach kids about food is to help them understand where it comese from. This season, we're learning how to sow basil, parsley, tomato and pepper seeds. We'll also plant an olive and a lemon tree. Finally, we'll harvest strawberries to make jam & more.

Seasonal recipes

As a Georgia resident, there is more to seasonal produce in the Peach State than peaches! I love to cook food that's in season because it's not only family budget friendly, but it's environmentally responsible. Seasonal Food Guide is my go to place for an alphabetical listing of seasonal fruits and vegetables grown in Georgia (or any state) and their approximate harvest seasons. A great source to locate local farms near you is the Local Food Directories: Community Supported Agriculture.

Here's a sample of what you can prepare - open-face oyster & lion king mushroom sandwich. Variety of pizzas. Variety of pasta dishes. Best burgers with a twist. Dressing up our hotdogs like no other. Dressing up salads. Preparing a variety of sandwiches. Variety of soups. Blueberry-lemon zest muffinns.  Carrot cake with fluffy cream cheese icing. Banana bread with raisins & walnuts. Coconut ladoo with cardamon & nuts. Tomato, pepper or apple sauce. Variety of jams, but my favorite is Strawberry-lemon.

Discovering the MiddleEast - the persian version

The Middle East is a region that spans from the Levant, Arabian Peninsula, Anatolia, Egypt, Iran and Iraq. Some of the best meals I have had are from my home country, Iran (Persia). My kids love the diverse meals I serve them and some of their favorites are Persian food. I hope you'll give it a try!

Here's a smaple of what you can prepare - Shirazi Salad. Stuffed grape leaves (dolmeh bargeh moo) with pomegrantie sauce. Stuffed cabbage or bell peppers (dolmeh kalam ya felfel) with tomato sauce. Variety of stews. Variety of kabobs. Variety of dips. Variety of rice dishes. Saffron-rose water rice pudding. Pistachio baklava, and more.
